A man has been charged with malicious wounding following an incident at a Lowestoft supermarket.

Police were called to Morrisons on North Quay Retail Park on Sunday, April 22 at around 1.35pm, before detaining a man nearby. It followed reports that a member of staff had been stabbed by a man with a syringe after the worker had attempted to stop him.

The victim suffered a cut to his hand which required hospital treatment.

Bozlu Miah, of Bramble Green, Lowestoft, has been charged with unlawful and malicious wounding and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has also been charged with the theft of five bottles of alcohol.

Miah has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday, May 22.
