Man charged with assaulting police officer

A man will appear in court on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

Steven Smith, 37, of Hall Lane, West Winch, King’s Lynn, has been charged with assaulting a police constable in the execution of their duty.

The incident occurred at around 4.30am in Norfolk Street, King’s Lynn, on Sunday, February 4.

The officer sustained facial injuries and required hospital treatment.

Smith will appear in King’s Lynn magistrates’ court on Thursday, March 22.
