Police are investigating after a laser was shone at a police helicopter in Norwich last night.

Police tweeted last night: “Somebody targeted @NPAS_Wattisham Helicopter with a laser in #Norwich tonight! Enquires ongoing to identify suspect.”

The helicopter had been scrambled to respond to aggravated burglary at 9.30pm in Derby Street on Thursday when a laser was shone at it from somewhere to the north of where the burglary incident occured.

A police spokesman said a man in his 30s had been arrested in connection with the aggravated burglary.

The spokesman said they were still trying to locate the person responsible for shining the laser.
