Man airlifted to hospital following serious assault

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a man in his 60s had to be airlifted to hospital following an assault.

The victim was left with serious injuries after the assault in the Old Market Place in Wisbech at 10pm on Sunday.

The man is still in police custody, said Cambridgeshire Police.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the attack to contact them with information by calling 101 quoting CF0212370418
