A man faces jail after he admitted carrying out a robbery at a bar on Prince of Wales Road, in Norwich, and assaulting a male and a female police officer.

Aaron Hewson, 29, from Norwich, pleaded guilty to robbery on May 11, this year, and he also admitted assault by beating the two officers on May 12, this year.

Chris Youell, prosecuting at Norwich Crown Court, said pleas to the three charges were acceptable to the Crown.

Mr Youell told the court that Hewson had a previous robbery conviction in 2012 for which he was jailed three years and this was now his second robbery conviction.

Judge Anthony Bate remanded Hewson in custody and ordered pre-sentence reports to assess what risks Hewson posed to the public.

He adjourned sentence for four weeks until July 23.

Hewson was arrested after the robbery victim approached officers at about 11.10pm and stated he had been robbed at knifepoint in a nearby bar.
