Man, 31, charged in connection with robbery and car hijacking at Tesco in King’s Lynn

A 31-year-old man has been charged with a series of offences after a robbery and car hijacking at a supermarket.

Andrew Hennells, of Riverview Way, Gaywood, King’s Lynn, has been charged with two counts of robbery and stealing £410 in cash and a motor vehicle.

He also faces a charge of harassment and possession of an offensive weapon - a kitchen knife - in connection with the incident at the Tesco store at St Faiths Drive in Gaywood, King’s Lynn, on Friday evening.

Hennells has been remanded in police custody to appear at King’s Lynn Magistrates Court on Monday.

A number of police units - including armed officers - were deployed after reports of the robbery at about 7.40pm.
