A suspected drug-driver who attempted to make off from police on foot has been arrested in Lowestoft after traffic officers chased him down.

A Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Police officer Tweeted about the incident, saying a vehicle suddenly parked in front of their vehicle and its driver ran off.

The Tweet said: “A driver decided to suddenly park, get out and run off from me in Lowestoft after I pulled out of a junction behind it. Very suspicious.”

After pursuing the driver on foot, the officer discovered the suspect had no driving licence, no insurance and tested positive for cannabis.

The officer added: “Who says traffic officers can’t run?”
