A Lithuanian man has been arrested on suspicion of being an unlicensed gangmaster in Cambridgeshire.

The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) carried out warrants at several addresses in Wisbech today where they found 13 Lithuanian individuals.

The labour exploitation arrest was part of a joint operation with Cambridgeshire Police, Fenland District Council, the Department for Work and Pensions, the British Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

GLAA officers arrested a 30-year-old Lithuanian man who is being held at a police station while the investigation continues.

The 13 Lithuanian individuals were taken to a nearby reception where they are assisting the GLAA with its enquiries. They were offered help and support by the Red Cross.
