King’s Lynn taxi driver punched in face

A taxi driver was punched in the face by a passenger who jumped on the bonnet, denting the roof and bodywork.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which took place in King’s Lynn on Saturday, September 16.

They say it happened at approximately 9.45pm on Gaywood Road, when an altercation occurred between a taxi driver and their passengers, a man and a woman.

The victim was punched in the face by the man causing a lump to his forehead and reddening under his eye.

The man then left the vehicle before running over the bonnet and the roof causing dents to the bodywork.

A man aged in his 20s from the Plymouth area has been questioned and remains under investigation. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident.
