Here is our monthly look back at some of the criminals who were jailed in Norfolk courts in April.
• A 20-year-old dealer who was acting as a 'runner' selling heroin and crack cocaine on the streets of Great Yarmouth was sentenced to three years seven months in a young offenders institution for possessing crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply, possession of Class A drugs and possession of a knife.
Damien Laverick of Waterloo Road, Great Yarmouth, was caught after he was observed by police officers passing on the drugs in 'hand to hand' exchanges with other known drug users in the town on three separate occasions, Norwich Crown Court heard.
• A 'callous and dangerous' robber behind a series of handbag snatches from vulnerable elderly women in Norwich was sentenced to a 10 year-term with six and half years custody and three and half years extended licence.
Justin Campling, 40, of Bullace Road, admitted a string of seven robberies on victims, who were all over 70, with the eldest being 86-years-old and even targeted one pensioner who had suffered a stroke and was using an electric wheelchair, at Bowthorpe.
• A man convicted for possessing and intending to supply crack cocaine and heroin has been sentenced to three years in jail.
Alex Baldry, 21, of Beaconsfield Road, Lowestoft, was charged with two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
• A fraudster who fled court for an hour came back to face the music - and ended up with three years in jail.
Former police officer Grant Murray was due to appear before Norwich Crown Court to be sentenced on seven counts of fraud, forgery and theft from his ex-wife. But when staff gathered for the hearing he was nowhere to be seen and upon his return he was jailed for three years.
• A Norfolk child groomer who was attempting to meet-up for sex with girls under 16 was caught by a group of paedophile hunters, a Norwich Crown Court heard.
Adam Greenacre, 35, of Fieldfare Way, Swaffham thought he was having sex chats with nine girls aged 12 to 14 but in fact they were adult volunteers from paedophile hunter groups. He admitted nine counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and was jailed for 32 months.
• A teenager who waved an imitation gun at a couple in Norwich and threatened to shoot them over a £120 debt owed to his friend was sentenced to 27 months in a young offenders institution.
Ryan Miller, 19, of Elizabeth Fry Road, Eaton, admitted possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and attempting to pervert the course of justice and sending a malicious communication.
• A search for a missing girl led to police finding a Norwich flat which had been 'cuckooed' by London drug dealers as a base to sell drugs, a court heard.
Kobe McKinlay, 20, from London, was found at the flat and messages on a mobile phone he used uncovered a number of drug-related text messages and £166 cash was also recovered. He admitted possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and was given two years in a young offender institution.
• A judge told a prolific offender that he was approaching becoming a 'career' burglar as he jailed him for two years for an attempted break-in.
Darren Broome, 40, formerly of Great Yarmouth, had only been released from prison for six weeks for a previous burglary when he attempted to break in to a house in Great Yarmouth.
• An 87-year-old man was jailed after admitting child sex offences dating back to the 1960s.
Former music teacher Paul Johnson, of Mount Street in King's Lynn, pleaded guilty to 12 separate counts of indecent assault and was jailed for eight years.
• A man who stabbed his uncle went on the run from Great Yarmouth for more than a year before being arrested on a European arrest warrant, a court heard.
Edvinas Balaboskinas, 20, was eventually arrested back in his native Lithuania and admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent on and also failing to surrender to custody and was given six-and-a-half years in a young offenders institution.
• A dangerous Norfolk sex offender who raped a six year-old girl was given a 22 year extended sentence and placed on the sex offenders' register for life.
Keith Butterworth, 60, who previously lived in Thetford, is already serving a four-and-a-half-year sentence for child sex offences, and was convicted following a trial at Norwich Crown Court of a further offence of raping a child.
• A man who spat in a police officer's face and kicked another in the shin after being found with heroin and crack cocaine in a nightclub was jailed for more than two years.
Macaulay Anderson, 22, of Victoria Terrace, Great Yarmouth, admitted possession of crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply and two charges of battery and was jailed for two years and two months.
