Ipswich Town star Michael Chopra faces a driving ban after admitting today to travelling at 106mph in a 70mph limit in his Audi car while on the A12 in Essex last month.
Chopra, 27, of Warkworth Woods, Newcastle upon Tyne, and who played for Newcastle, Watford, Nottingham Forest, Barnsley, Cardiff and Sunderland, signed a three year contract with Ipswich in June this year.
He was clocked by an officer with a handheld speed gun on the A12 at Colchester on September 13 and must now appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court for possible disqualification on November 16.
Former England youth player Chopra today admitted speeding in a letter to the court and, with six penalty points, faces a ban under the totting procedure or outright for such a high speed.
Listed under his real name Rocky Michael Chopra, his case was adjourned by Chairman of the bench John Hopkins after being informed by prosecutor Philip Pearson of the offence.
