Intu Chapelfield in Norwich is holding a 'quiet opening hour' this weekend in support of World Autism Awareness Day.
From 4pm to 5pm on Sunday, April 2, people with autism and their families can visit the shopping centre in an environment that takes into account their sensory needs.
Autism Anglia will be in the centre from 11am to 5pm with a stand on the lower mall floor near Game. They will provide people with information and advice about the condition.
A spokesperson for Austim Anglia said the shopping centre was aiming to receive an Autism Awareness Award in the near future.
'As part of the work towards this, Autism Anglia is pleased to support them in the development of centre guides for people with autism, wrist bands that can be worn to indicate to Intu staff and retailers that the person has autism, and an autism card that can be carried by the person with autism if they wish,' the spokesperson added.
