One man is in hospital after four people were assaulted during an incident in Norwich.
Officers were called to Armes Street in the city at 1.50am on Sunday after an attack in which four men were assaulted.
One of the men remains in a stable condition at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. The three other men sustained minor injuries in the attack.
A resident, who wants to remain anonymous, said there was loud shouting, swearing and one person was laying on the ground.
'It was the most unpleasant occurrence I've ever known in the 12 years since living here,' he said 'It is normally a quiet, pleasant place to live.'
Enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspects.
Detectives are keen to hear from anybody who may have witnessed the incident or have any information.
They should contact DC Luke Soar at Bethel Street Police Station on 101.
