Police have warned people to lock their cars after a spate of thefts from vehicles in west Norwich overnight.

Five youths - four male and one female - were in custody this morning following the thefts, which happened around the Bowthorpe Road/Cadge Road area of the city.

PC Dan Taylor, beat manager for Norwich west, said items such as sat navs and purses had been taken, although some property had been recovered.

He added: 'I'm hoping if people realise items have been stolen they can still get in contact with us via 101 to report items gone, as there could be more vehicles that have been entered.'
