Masked robbers leave shop worker ‘very shaken’ after stealing cash in Co-op raid

A shop worker was left “very shaken” after masked robbers stole cash from a Co-Op.

The two suspects, described as a man and possibly a woman, were both wearing face coverings when they raided the store in Church Street, Eye, Suffolk, at around 8.50pm on Wednesday, May 9.

The offenders entered the rear of the premises and approached a female shop worker, instructing her to open the safe.

They stole a quantity of notes and coins from the safe, which they put into a JD sports bag before fleeing the scene on foot.

Although nobody was hurt during the incident and no weapon was used, the shop worker was left very shaken as a result.

Witnesses, or anybody who saw anything suspicious around the time above are asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 25263/18.
