A “suspicious package” found at a Norfolk industrial estate has been examined and found to be safe, it has emerged.

Emergency services, including police, had been called to Oldmeadow Road, King’s Lynn, on the Hardwick Industrial Estate, following reports of a suspicious package being found.

The package was discovered at about 2.15pm on Monday (April 27).

The building was evacuated and a 100 metre cordon put in place as a precaution,

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was contacted and attended the scene to assess the package.

But after careful examination the package was deemed to be non-suspicious, and safe, containing an electrical component.

Police said the 100-metre cordon has been lifted, and the road re-opened shortly after 7.20pm.
