A 23-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with drug offences.
While patrolling the Oulton Road area of Lowestoft on Wednesday morning, officers from Suffolk police's Scorpion East team became aware of a man acting suspiciously in suspected drug exchanges.
The suspect was located by officers around 15 minutes later in Beresford Road, where he was stopped for a drugs search under Section 32 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and subsequently tasered.
Connor Durrant was arrested and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Durrant, of no fixed abode, appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court this morning (June 27) and was remanded in custody pending a hearing at a later date.
Since its formation, the Scorpion branch has prioritised a mass crackdown on drugs trafficking and works to combat child sex offences and deny criminals use of the roads.
