A Suffolk man and woman are set to stand trial together for charges related to a string of alleged burglaries across the county.

Marc Nicholls and Anna Sesto are charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in Southwold, Woodbridge, Framlingham, Aldeburgh, Leiston, Debenham, Holbrook and Earl Soham.

Sesto, 20, of Campbell Road, Ipswich, appeared before magistrates to deny the alleged offences this morning (Monday).

Nicholls, 35, previously of Hawke Road, Ipswich, is due to appear before magistrates on Friday.

The pair are charged with conspiracy to commit burglary at a total of 19 locations, including a healthcare clinic, clothing store, delicatessen, bakery, opticians, fish and chip shop, two hair salons and two charity shops in Southwold, a gift shop, sandwich shop and charity shop in Woodbridge, a pet shop in Framlingham, beauty salon in Aldeburgh, interior design store in Leiston, the Co-op in Debenham, a million-pound property in Earl Soham and another home in Holbrook.

All of the offences are alleged to have taken place between December 20 and February 3.

Police were called to 11 reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Southwold High Street – including five in the space of 24 hours – between December 21 and January 30.

Burglaries were reported at the British Red Cross, Happiness Store and The Sandwich Shop in Woodbridge between January 12 and 13.

Further burglaries, attempted burglaries and a theft were reported later that month at Toby's Pet Shop in Framlingham, Beauty at the Blue Door in Aldeburgh, Blonde & Chestnut in Leiston, the Co-op in Debenham, and the properties in Earl Soham and Holbrook.

Nicholls was charged on May 30 and remanded in custody, while Sesto was charged with the same with the same offences and ordered to Suffolk Magistrates' Court by postal requisition – or summons.

Represented in court by Dino Barricella, Sesto was granted unconditional bail to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, August 6

Nicholls, represented in his absence on Monday by Mark Holt, is due to appear at the same court this Friday, when his case is also expected to be sent to the crown court.
