A convicted burglar who went on the run and eluded police for more than two weeks has been caught.

Stephen Robbens, 45, from Norwich, was wanted on recall to prison after breaching the conditions of his licence.

He had been serving a sentence after being convicted of burglary.

On Tuesday, August 4, police had attempted to arrest Robbens at Heathgate in Norwich. But he ran off in the direction of Mousehold Heath.

It sparked a manhunt, with a police helicopter, around 10 officers and a dog unit involved in the search, but the man was not found.

Police then issued a photograph of him and urged the public to help find him. Although they warned people not to approach the 6ft criminal.

Norfolk police today confirmed that Robbens was arrested in the Causeway Close area of Norwich yesterday and said he will now be returned to prison.
