A woman has told how she was grabbed in a Norwich park before being repeatedly raped by a man accused of a city centre crime spree.

The woman told Norwich Crown Court she had been on her way to work, at about 5.40am on March 30 last year, when she was grabbed in Chapelfield Gardens by Jake Killick.

She said he pulled her into an alleyway where he raped her.

Killick, 23, of Whitemoor Prison, is then said to have forced her to go with him to Ten Bell Court where he repeatedly raped her.

Killick is on trial accused of six rapes, three robberies, sexual assault and false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence on March 30 last year.

He has also denied two other charges - rape and breaching a restraining order - both on January 5 last year.

In an interview with police, played to the jury on Wednesday (January 10), the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she had walked past him earlier.

She felt he looked a 'bit dodgy' and 'had a look about him that made me feel a bit uncomfortable'.

She said she could feel him following her before he caught up with her and grabbed her. She started screaming for help but was told her if she carried on he would 'hurt her'.

She said he also told her he would murder her if she told anyone about what happened.

The woman, who described being 'scared' and how she 'just wanted to get away', said she was dragged down a side alley where she was raped.

The court then heard how she was taken to Ten Bell Court where her ordeal continued.

The incident only came to an end after a resident opened her door and let the woman come into her home. The police were then called.

Earlier, the court heard from a woman, said to be the first to be attacked on March 30 last year.

She told how she was grabbed by Killick as she walked along Riverside Road at about 4.35am.

She said she told the man she would like him to go away and tried to remove his arm from her shoulder but he became more aggressive and said: 'You don't touch me, I touch you.'

She said she was touched between the legs by the defendant who later tried to drag her down St Matthews Road.

She said: 'The thought I had was that I'm going to be raped.'

The woman said she 'grabbed hold of a road sign' and started screaming in a bid to end the ordeal.

'It was an absolute last-ditch attempt. I thought something horrible was going to happen at that point so I was desperate to attract anyone whatever way I could so I screamed as loudly as I could.'

She said the man then let go and went off.

She said she carried on walking to the railway station and called police after she got in the train.

Matthew McNiff, defending Killick, said he was not suggesting that what she had described did not happen. But he said, on behalf of Mr Killick, who the police said was the man responsible, that they had got it wrong.

The trial continues.
