A white car 'doing donuts' was spotted by a passer by at 9pm on Saturday in the Runton Road car park in Cromer.

Steph Rose, who was walking with her nine-year-old at the time of the incident, said: "This moron thought it would be fun tonight to do donuts all over the Runton Road field.

"It was a white saloon, they took off after I photographed them, but the field is in an awful state.

"Why can't people just respect community areas?"

The field is used in the summer for Cromer Carnival, but is mostly used as a car park ran by North Norfolk District Council.

Mrs Rose said: "It's a good job we had head torches on, else they would not have seen us."

Norfolk police have said they were not made aware of the incident.

Tim Adams, the North Norfolk District Councillor for Cromer said: "Myself and a colleague from NNDC have since both been to look in our spare time and we both agree that the damage is not at all substantial, and certainly less than we have seen previously.

"There is no rutting, and the tyre marks present will disappear very soon.

"Our main concern with anti-social vehicle use tends to be safety of other public space and car park users, and sound disruption to nearby residents and businesses late at night or in the early hours of the morning.

"We didn't have any formal reports on this occasion, so it would be appreciated if people can also get in touch with ourselves or the Police via the 'Report It' web page on the Norfolk Constabulary website to report any further information or recurrence so that we are both able prioritise however necessary."
