It is already proving to be a busy Christmas weekend for police in King's Lynn.

Over night the public order team made five arrests.

At 11pm one man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.

Another was arrested for actual bodily harm following an allegation of a headbutt on another male a premises in the town centre.

Three men were arrested for affray at around 5.30am. They had been involved in an altercation on Norfolk Street.

Following a short foot chase by officers they were arrested and taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre.

They remain in custody.

The last incident meant seven of the officers were still on duty in custody beyond their normal shift finishing time.

A tweet from the King’s Lynn police account said: “That’s not including other non-Public Order arrests that we made on top. Merry Xmas.”

In Dersingham a vehicle was stopped by officers on Hunstanton Road at just after 10pm, and two men were arrested for possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Cannabis and other items linked to drug dealing were found in the vehicle.

Both men were taken to the King’s Lynn Investigation Centre where they remained overnight.
