A collectables and antiques shop which appeared on a popular daytime television show has been targeted by burglars who smashed through a side wall, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.
The raid took place at Sheringham Collectables, on Melbourne Road, off the main high street, sometime between 5pm on Friday night and the morning of October 31.
The suspects first attempted to gain entry via a new build at the back of the shop by smashing a hole in a brick wall, which is believed to have caused structural problems.
Unsuccessful in that attempt, they then tried to enter the property through a side entrance by removing bricks.
Once inside they broke into a safe and made off with jewellery and watches but were unable to gain further access into the main shop.
Paul Betts, of Thursford, is a close friend of owner Kris Watts, and took to social media to appeal for witnesses.
A statement on the shop's Facebook page read: 'Sheringham collectables was broken into by breaking apart the corner of the building and causing thousands of pounds worth of damage in the process.
'They took the contents of one safe and various bits, also destroying another safe but luckily didn't get inside it.
'If you know anything that could help find the people who did this then please do not hesitate to contact the police or me.'
The shop will be closed for the rest of the week.
It opened more than five years ago and has become affectionately know as the 'Dalek shop' in the local area because of the replica - Lord Supreme Dalek - made by Mr Watts.
His Dalek, which took him more than a year to make, is usually found outside the shop but is currently at another address being repaired.
Sheringham Collectables has also featured on the BBC show Antiques Roadtrip twice.
