The Beast from the East might have brought chaos and disruption to the region's road and rail networks - but it has also helped police in King's Lynn catch some crooks.
King's Lynn Police took to social media to report how the snow from the Siberian weather front had helped them collar two burglars.
They tweeted: 'Thank you to the beast from the east for your snow flurry in Kings Lynn tonight assisting us to locate two burglars!
#Team3'.
The incident occurred in the South Lynn area at around 3am.
Police said the snow assisted officers in tracking the suspects from the victim's address to a nearby location where two males were arrested and stolen property recovered.
It is reminiscent of a case back in 2013 when robber Margiris Jogela was caught almost red-handed after police followed his footprints in the freshly-laid snow.
Jogela, then 22, of no fixed abode, had only been in the country for two days before he robbed the intoxicated victim, a student at the University of East Anglia (UEA), in Pottergate in the early hours of January 18 2013.
The victim was trying to unlock a bicycle when he was approached by two men, including Jogela who punched him in the back of the head before stealing his wallet, mobile phone and cash.
Jogela, from Lithuania, and the other man fled but were caught on CCTV and followed by officers who apprehended Jogela after following his footprints in the snow.
In February 2013 Jogela was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to robbery.
