Two people have been arrested after a night-time incident in a takeaway in Norwich.

The pair were arrested for assault and victims and witnesses provided statements to the police.

PC Jon Parker, who was on night-time economy duty in the city, tweeted at 1.50am on Sunday: “All very civilised until just before our van’s allotted break time. 2 arrested for assault after an incident at a takeaway. Victim and witnesses now having statements taken. #Alcohol a factor. #knowyourlimit.”

A few hours later, at 4.07am, he tweeted that he arrested a woman for assault. He said: “Just arrested a female for assault. Slapped another female right in front of the Sarge and I so no choice.”

At the end of his shift he thanked the volunteers from the SOS Bus for their help.

“We’ve been well supported by the volunteers of the @SOSBUSNorwich tonight again,” he tweeted. “The shift leader (a role I performed for a few years before I joined the police) was doing a great job of triaging and juggling the clients as they were coming in thick and fast.”
