Police surrounded a house in Wisbech following reports a woman had acid thrown at her.

Officers were called just before 8.20am yesterday (Sunday, June 24) to reports of a suspected acid attack on Norwich Road.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: “A woman reported having a substance, suspected to be acid, thrown at her.”

The woman was not seriously injured, police said.

No arrests have been made and investigations continue.

Police said they are treating it as an isolated incident at this time.
