A man has appeared in court charged with causing a danger to road users after rocks were thrown at vehicles driving on the Norfolk-Suffolk border.

Aaron Hurley, 25, admitted at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday to three counts of causing a danger to road users and denied a fourth count.

Each charge said the defendant "intentionally caused stones and rocks to be on a road... in such circumstances that it would have been obvious to a reasonable person that it would have been dangerous".

He also pleaded guilty on Wednesday to three counts of criminal damage and denied a fourth count.

The charges to which Hurley pleaded guilty happened on the A140 at Pulham Market, the A47 Acle Straight in Great Yarmouth and the A143 at Stockton, with damage caused to a Honda Jazz, Ford Focus and a third motor vehicle.

He denied charges relating to an incident at Thorpe Abbotts on June 8 in which a Triumph Spitfire was damaged by a rock.

The incidents happened between May 25 and June 9.

Hurley, of Hardley Road, Langley, Norfolk, appeared by videolink from Wymondham police station for the court hearing.

Granting him bail, Deputy District Judge Shanta Deonarine said: "You are not to be in any mechanically propelled vehicle whatsoever apart from public transport such as trains, buses and tubes."

She said "not even a taxi", adding: "I don't want you in anything that looks even remotely like a car."

Hurley is due to appear before Norwich Crown Court on July 17.
