Police have revealed 151 knives were deposited into a town's knife amnesty bin during a week-long crackdown.
The 'Bin a Blade' campaign was launched in Lowestoft on Monday, March 11, as part of a countywide initiative to curb the national knife problem.
Over the last five years offences involving blades in Suffolk have risen by 25pc.
And Suffolk Police continue to fight the worrying trend through Operation Sceptre.
Since the 'Bin a Blade' campaign launched in 2011, more than 22,000 bladed items have been deposited in bins in Ipswich, Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall, Sudbury and Haverhill.
During this year's knife amnesty 151 knives were handed in to the bin outside Lowestoft Police Station, in Old Nelson Street.
A spokesman added: 'The knife bin is and will be there 24/7 so please continue to deposit your knives there.'
