Four fire crews have attended a fire at a residential property in Acle.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Old Road at 5.10pm.

The fire was situated in the roof of the property though it is unknown as to what the cause was.

Steve Mitchell, 26, who lives nearby, was arriving home from work when he saw the fire engines at the scene.

He said: 'I heard several fire engines rushing towards the home and there was a lot of activity going on.

'The loft window was open and there was smoke pouring through it.

'It looked as though the fire service had been there a while as they seemed to have it well under control.'

Appliances from Acle, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and Carrow attended the scene and no one was hurt in the blaze.

The fire was put out by 6pm.
