An apprentice from Breckland Council has seen off the competition to win a prestigious award.

Fleur Ramm was awarded the Poultec Excellence Award for business administration, IT and management.

She was selected from 2,000 nominees, and was up against 11 other people in her category. She was also nominated for Apprentice of the Year.

Fleur joined Breckland council in June 2016 and completed her apprenticeship within a year. She is due to stay at the council until 2018.

She said: 'I really enjoy working at Breckland Council and I've learned a great deal over the past year.

'Apprenticeships give you a chance to get hands-on experience and qualifications while earning a salary. It's been a great way for me to get my career started.'

Lindy Warmer, the council business growth manager said: 'Fleur has really impressed us and worked extremely hard. She's a credit to the council.'
