A Norfolk community group has had great success with their annual Easter Basket competition and raised more than £1,000 for good causes.

The Swaffham Lions handed out 26 Easter baskets to clubs, pubs and businesses in Swaffham and the surrounding villages.

They were made by Swaffham Lion member, David Cunnington, and included donation sheets numbered one to sixty with squares being sold for the price of £1.

The winning number square was the bonus ball in the National Lottery draw on March 24. All of the money raised from the squares is set to be donated to causes supported by the Lions, which have recently included the Royal British Legion, youth groups and young people who have been diagnosed with challenging conditions.

At the beginning of March the Lions also donated £500 to an appeal set up for Swaffham teenager, Archie Ramshaw, who has had a rare form of anaemia since the age of seven.
