The coastguard is urging people make sure they are aware of the tides on the north Norfolk coast.
The message comes after the coastguard was called out to help a family who were in danger of being cut off by the tide at Heacham Beach, near Hunstanton, at about 1.30pm today.
A spokesman for the coastguard said: 'People should always make sure they are aware of the tides in the area and if in any doubt they can contact the coastguard on 01262 672317.'
