An auction of clothes worn by Suffolk superstar Ed Sheeran has raised more than £7,000 for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).

The charity, for which Ed is an ambassador, launched an auction of 70 tops, trousers and trainers on eBay last month.

Bids came in from across the world, including the United States and Australia, with one German super fan paid out £897.55 for five items.

The top performing lot was a pair of orange Adidas trainers, packaged with a postcard signed by the 26-year-old singer, that went for £555.55.

Other big sellers included a tour t-shirt with s signed postcard that went for £311.99, a T-Bar t-shirt for £271 and a pair of Element jeans for £255.

Jason High, EACH eBay Manager, said: 'Once again, the generosity of Ed and his fans has helped us raise thousands of pounds to continue caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and supporting their families.

'Our thanks to everyone who took part in the auction and also to Brandbank, which kindly took photos of each individual item for us to use on eBay.

'Although Ed's clothing has now all gone, we've got plenty of other items listed on our eBay store from books and collectibles to electricals and home decorations – log on and take a look.'

The record-breaking singer has been an ambassador since 2014, helping raise a huge amount of money and awareness for the good cause.

He has also paid a visit to EACH's Treehouse hospice in Ipswich, which is close to his family home in Framlingham.

Four months ago, another auction of his clothing was held which raised £8,060.
