Classmates have travelled from around the country to reunite in Costessey after leaving school 54 years ago.

The friends left Costessey Secondary Modern in 1963 and have been meeting back in the area since last year.

The group was started in January 2016 after Pearl Crown, who had moved to Canada, return to the area to attend her mothers funeral.

While she was back she reached out to a few of her old school friends to see if they could meet up.

Ever since the group has been growing in numbers with classmates from as far as Cornwall travelling back to reunite.

The 29 classmates met at the Copper Beech in Costessey for lunch and a trip down memory lane as they reminisced and updated each other on their lives.

The reunion was made extra special by the arrival of the groups former metal work and music teachers.

Malcolm Stebbings, 70, said: 'We are really proud of our long standing friendship.'
