City armed raid

Police are appealing for information following a robbery at the Wine Warehouse in Dereham Road in Norwich last night.

Police are appealing for information following a robbery at the Wine Warehouse in Dereham Road, Norwich.

The incident happened between 6.45pm and 7pm on Monday night.

Two men, one in his early 30s and the other in his early 20s, went into the store and one produced a gun, demanding cash.

It is not known whether the gun was an imitation or an authentic firearm.

The men made off on foot with a relatively small quantity of cash, along Dereham Road towards the city.

One was described as 6ft 1ins to 6ft 2ins, thin and wearing a dark baseball cap and a purple long-sleeved shirt. No-one was injured but staff were left shocked and distressed.

Det Con David Jerman appealed for witnesses: "Dereham Road is a busy area of the city and it is highly likely that members of the public either walking by or driving past would have seen these two men."
