A car used in a recent all-star national touring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be coming to Fakenham for the town’s own version of the famous musical, which starts tonight (May 14).
Award-winning theatre company Fakenham and District Light Operatic Society (FADLOS) is to perform Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the Musical.
Only a handful of societies were given the honour this year, with FADLOS claiming to be East Anglia's premiere amateur performance.
The show will be staged at the town's community centre and already the society has faced a huge range of obstacles and problems, as director Lucy Ferris explained.
"It has been a very stressful journey already and Chitty hasn't even arrived yet," she said.
"We have had to have structural engineers, architects and a huge range of professionals involved to ensure that the stage at Fakenham Community Centre can handle the weight and dimensions of the infamous car - she certainly is proving to be the diva of the show."

The Chitty car is being hired from Blue Chilli and is the same car used in the recent touring production featuring Lee Mead and Jason Manford.
The show, adapted from the 1968 famous film, is stretching the society more than ever but together the cast and crew are overcoming obstacles one step at a time.
Ms Ferris added: "As Caractacus Potts says 'nothing is impossible' and with a lot of extra conversations and hard work the team at FADLOS are almost positively positive that the legendary flying machine will be on the stage in the community centre in May, come hell or high water."
Chitty will not be the only new addition to the group this year.
The Potts children, Jeremy and Jemima, are being played by Molly Freestone and Teejay Standing. The due are no stranger to the stage, having been involved in other groups, but this is the first time they have ventured onto the FADLOS stage.
The show starts tonight (April 14) at 7.30pm and runs until Saturday, May 18.
