A married couple who had overstayed their visas have been caught by the UK Border Agency in a raid on a Beccles takeaway.
Officers from the local immigration team for Suffolk and north east Essex visited Pagoda Chinese Takeaway in Hungate on Wednesday evening.
A search of the flat above the restaurant found two Chinese nationals - a 63-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman. Checks revealed both had stayed beyond the terms of their visitors visas.
They were taken into UK Border Agency detention while arrangements for their removal are made.
Chief immigration officer Jack Davis said: 'As this operation shows we are making it harder than ever for immigration offenders to evade our controls. There is no hiding place.'
