A chemical spill caused delays to drivers on the A47 near King's Lynn.
Emergency services were called to West Bilney this morning after a large crop spraying machine overturned whilst it was being towed through the village.
A police spokesman said: 'Police received a report around 9.45 to a report of a sprayer overturned that was being pulled by a tractor.
'Approx 400 to 500 litres of diluted fertiliser chemicals were leaking into the waterways.'
Police worked with Norfolk fire service's Hazmat team and the Environment agency to make the scene safe.
Long tailbacks built up in both directions. The Norwich-bound carriageway was re-opened at 10.55 and the other soon afterwards, once the chemicals had evaporated.
