A fundraising event is set to take place for a 2-year-old Lowestoft boy with cerebral palsy.

The Hatfield Hotel, in The Esplanade, will host its third charity coffee morning to raise money for Cohen Messenger on Monday, December 11.

An outpouring of support from the people of Lowestoft has already allowed Cohen's parents to order a much-needed wheelchair which will vastly improve his quality of life.

All money from hot drinks sales between 11am and 12pm will now go towards purchasing more equipment for the youngster such as a specialised bath seat and portable oxygen concentrator.

Alex Christophi, who owns the hotel, said: 'This has turned into a monthly event on the second Monday of the month and gives back to local charities and community projects which is something very important to me personally.

'We also urge the people of Lowestoft to nominate other local charities for further months'.
