A celebration assembly was held on the last day of term at Caister Infant School to mark the retirement of two teaching stalwarts.
Anne Dyer, who had worked in the kitchens for 30 years, and Ruth Thompson, who had worked in reception for 27 years, said their goodbyes last Wednesday.
Mrs Dyer had served lunches to generations, often seeing the children of those she had once served. And Mrs Thompson had kept things organised and ticking over in the front office.
After the assembly, Mrs Thompson's husband arranged for a horse and carriage surprise to take her home for the final time.
