A LORRY crashed into cars, a hedge and fences when it jackknifed and came off the main road through Fleggburgh last night.
The large articulated truck left the A1064, at the junction between Ruggs Lane and Town Road, at around 11.40pm. Police were called and the road was closed.
A spokesman for the force said it looked as though the lorry had swerved one way, hitting a fence, a lamppost and two cars, and then jackknifed on the other side of the road, smashing into a hedge and a fence.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was taken to the James Paget Hospital by paramedics after suffering a back injury.
Traffic has been able to get through the village this morning but the road will be closed later today when the lorry is recovered. Tractor drivers have been put on standby to help with the recovery, but it is not yet known when it will be removed.
