ABP East Anglia showcased a range of career opportunities to almost 2,000 young people at Suffolk New College's Your Career event.

The company, which operates the ports of Ipswich, Lowestoft and Kings Lynn in the region, played a role in promoting the event, which offered students the chance to discover a wide range of careers through activities and demonstrations.

ABP's team showcased career paths in port operations, engineering, marine and human resources. They were also promoting apprenticeships, with ABP currently employing around 70 young people as apprentices in a range of roles across the business including the only Marine Apprenticeship programme in the UK.

Andrew Harston, ABP director, Short Sea Ports, said: 'It is so important we are able to participate in events like this and have the opportunity to explain the range of jobs and career development that the modern port industry can offer.'
