FIREFIGHTERS were called to a vehicle fire in north Suffolk today (Saturday) after a car was in collision with a tree.

A crew from Halesworth tackled the blaze on The Street in Huntingfield at about 1pm.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue spokesman said that the vehicle was 'totally burnt out' following the collision and that 'a farmer had used a water bowser to partially extinguish the fire' prior to firefighters arriving on the scene.

The crew used 'a water back pack to extinguish hot spots,' once they arrived at the blaze, and the scene was cleared by 1.45pm.
