Microphones at the ready! UEA Students' Union to open a karaoke room on campus following research into what students want.
In 2016 a group of students undertook research into what is being provided by student unions around the world in comparison to what is provided at UEA.
A list of services the university lacked was compiled, which included a bowling alley and a private karaoke room.
Subsequently UEA SU have announced plans for a karaoke room on campus.
Due to open later this term, the karaoke space is located in the Green Room and will be bookable for use by small groups.
Jack Robinson, Campaigns and Democracy Officer at UEA Students' Union said: 'We've reused furniture and drapes to keep the costs for this project low and are working with Lucky Voice to maximise the number of songs available in different languages.'
Activities and Opportunities Officer, Camille Kyoosial, added: 'We know how important it is for students to have a whole range of activities to suit the true diversity of our campus. Opening a karaoke room is all part of this.'
