The desperate partner of a missing Norwich man will today lead two community searches, a month after he vanished.

Michael Seger, a 52-year-old father of four who lived off Fifers Lane, was last seen in the Rouen Road area just after 10pm on Saturday, March 7.

Sandie Smith said the last four weeks have been the worst of her life, and yesterday their son Marley celebrated his 10th birthday without him.

She said: 'All he said to me was that 'the best present for me would be for my dad to come home'.'

She added: 'The children are obviously very tearful at times. They do not know whether their dad is still alive, and it would make it a lot easier if we just had one positive sighting of him, just so we knew he was OK. That's all we are concerned about, his safety. He might think he is in trouble, but he is not. It's been the worst four weeks of my life, and the worst thing is not knowing.

'Every day I hope there will be something positive. If the phone rings, or there's a knock at the door, I just hope it's him being brave enough to come back.

'I can't continue my life not knowing any answers. We have to have answers for our four children.'

The first search party will set off at 10am, and the second at 7.30pm. Both will meet at the Owl Sanctuary pub, on Cattle Market Street, Norwich. Ms Smith said police were aware of the plans.

Mr Seger is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall, of very slim build, with long black hair. He was last seen wearing a black thigh length jacket, a black V-neck jumper, blue jeans and black trainers. He often wears a cap or bandana.
