The man who died after becoming trapped under a vehicle in Caister has been named locally as Don Peers.

Mr Peers died in the James Paget University Hospital after he became trapped on his land at Bultitudes Loke yesterday morning.

He owned the Grassmere Caravan Park and Wentworth Holiday Chalets in Bultitudes Loke and the neighbouring Peers Holiday Apartments.

In 2016 he was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his long term contribution to tourism and business in the borough at the Annual Tourism and Business Lunch and Awards for the Great Yarmouth Borough.

Mr Peers was also a lay Methodist preacher.

The Health and Safety Executive are investigating the incident.
