Services giant Kier has bolstered its outlook after securing £300m worth of contracts in the wake of its takeover of rival Mouchel.
The EDP Top 100 company, which employs about 280 people at Trowse near Norwich, was buoyed by a string of extensions to road maintenance contracts with Highways England, as well as winning a £40m deal to deliver consultancy services for North Yorkshire County Council through Mouchel Consulting and Kier Business Services.
More than £100m of contracts were also sealed by its construction division, while Kier Business Services was picked for a £62m health and support services framework for NHS Yorkshire & Humber Clinical Commissioning Group alongside BDO, Dr Foster and Engine.
Kier announced last month that it was on course to deliver £4m worth of savings next year after taking over rival infrastructure specialist Mouchel for £265m in June.

Last month, the company said it would look to capitalise on the government's launch of the National Infrastructure Commission, which will spend £100bn on infrastructure by 2020.
It announced in February that it would create about 100 jobs in the east after investing £12m in expanding its construction headquarters at Cambridge Research Park, Waterbeach.
Shareholders of Norwich-based May Gurney overwhelmingly backed a £221m takeover of the firm by Kier in 2013, marking the end of the road for the Trowse-based firm as a separate entity.
