Timber and builder merchants Ridgeons could close its Norwich South branch.
The business is consulting the five staff employed in the White Lodge Industrial Estate.
Joe Douglas, marketing manager for Ridgeons, said that they were still investing in the business in Norfolk and the main reason for the decision to consult about its future was the cost of the lease.
The Norwich South branch is the only one of the three Ridgeons branches in Norwich which is not owned by the company.
