Two district councils are celebrating the impact of young talent after taking on a record amount of apprentices this summer.
Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils have welcomed 13 new apprentices, working in service areas including human resources, planning, housing, finance and Active Communities.
Established in 2012, the apprenticeship scheme has trained 43 people across the two councils. Over the last three years 70% of apprentices have stayed with the councils, some of whom have undertaken further qualifications.
Stuart Lawson, Suffolk Coastal cabinet member for resources, and leader of Waveney District Council Mark Bee, who both have responsibility for human resources, said: 'Our apprentices are a valuable part of us as they contribute enormously across our service areas and the enthusiasm they bring helps us bring fresh ideas into the workplace.'
