A payments technology start-up has hit its £300,000 funding target having won backing from experienced members of the industry.

Future50 member Thyngs, based in Whitefriars in Norwich, has successfully completed its investment round on crowdfunding platform Crowdcube with backers including ex-Microsoft Europe managing director Chris Gare, digital agency Foolproof founders Tom Wood and Peter Ballard, and the founder of food chain Tossed, Vincent McKevitt.

The company has created an app-free system for mobile payments which can be used via stickers or QR codes.

Chief executive Neil Garner said: 'We would like to thank all of our new investors and partners for helping us to raise over £300,000 on Crowdcube. The funds raised will enable us to accelerate our growth and take advantage of the massive opportunity in the global market for mobile proximity payments.'
